Fun for Kids to do

Hi,
My name is Eble. I have a 6 year-old daughter, she is my only child. I always hear her complaint about being bored at home. Children love to play, and play to learn. They need freinds and companion. She has many freinds in the neighbourhood to play with after school everyday. I gather up a lot of fun things and games for children to play at home, outdoor and during travelling. I would like to share these with other parents. If you had anything to add on or suggestion just Email me!

Cheers!

1. Sand Pit
Just remind them not to throw sand at one another. Provide them with tools, container.

2. Swimming pool game
Pretending a shark swim after your kids. Remind them not to run, but swim as fast as you can

3. Bubble bath
We can do unlimited creation with bubbles. New hair styling, costume, Santa Claus, Elvis..

4. Camping at home
Use blanket or bedsheet to build tent. Read story book, eat in the tent. Give them torch light, you can switch off all the lights and tell a horror story.

5. Treasure Hunt
Draw a map to find hidden treasure like candy, chocolate...in the house. Write clues (words, maps, puzzle, maths, quiz etc.) in a small piece of paper. You can also teach the young reader some new words with this game.

6. Car wash with dad
Wear old clothes or swimming suit, provide sponge, hose, container, cloths and towel. Soaked to the skin on a sunny day.

7. Go for a ride at night
Bring along torch light, binoculars. Imagine riding through a night safari, name the wild animals you encountered.

8. Make a greeting card
Any occassion. Make up one as you wish. Happy Pet Day, Auntie Day, Good Friend day..

9. Play dough
Kids favorite game at home. Young children might swallow the dough accidentally, always choose the good quality, safe and edible type dough for them.

10. Teacher and student
Provide them chalk board, chalks, papers, pens, books and bag. Girls like to play acting as some figures they are familiar with such as teachers, students, parents etc. They can play for the whole day and you get your time to chill out. :)

11. Mum and children
Give them old car keys, pretend like mommy driving to the store and do shopping, or driving to pick children up from school.

12. Doctor and patient
Doctor toy set is needed. Use wagon as ambulance. Teach them facts about human body, limbs and organ. Let them try the bandage on the body.

13. Paper and scissors
Paper and scissors. This activity is not for small children. Supervise them or else buy safety scissors (wholly made from plastic).

14. Drama
Read them stories, and let them play the roles. Choose simple stories like Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs... Help them with the costume.

15.Make a scarecrow
Draw smiley face on a pumpkin, use a sack of straws as body, make hair, dress it up with worn clothes, put on some accessories like hat, sun-glasses or handbag. Name your scarecrow. Stand it on in your backyard.

16. Cups and water
Clean water, cups, container, spoons. Teach young children how to scoop, stir, pour. You can also teach elder children about measurement.

17. Beans & rice
Colorful beans such as soya beans, green beans, red.., cups, bowls, scoop and small bags. Do simple maths or counting together. Watch over the young children to avoid them swallowing the beans.

18. Knowing Some Plants and Animals Around Us
Bring the kids to the garden or park near the house. The nature and the environment is our classroom. The teaching topics can range from insects, worms, butterfly, ants to flowers, herbs and trees. Bring along a pencil and writing pad, let the children draw and name the thing they encounter during the tour.
